Nailene Acrylic Strong Topcoat - Review, part 1

Hey Ladies,

Today I have a product review from Nailene.

What the product claims:

* locks in colour while adding high gloss shine
* provides extra protection for stronger natural nails
* Formaldehyde free

In this first part of the review I will be showcasing the high gloss shine. I used one coat over my Zombie Zest Mani (which I previously wore no topcoat with). It instantly added a high gloss shine and smooth finish I was really impressed with. I mean, just look at the pictures below! such a glossy zombie ;)

Application
The topcoat applied smoothly and evenly with no cuticle pull or stickiness/stiffness. The brush was average and the actual polish was quite thin which I like. Overall dry time didn't take too long, maybe a couple of minutes. (FYI - I applied this to dry polish)

Final Thought
This topcoat definitely provides my polish with a high gloss shine and smooth finish. Please take a look at my previous post to compare the mani with and without the topcoat, you can definitely see a difference.
Stay tuned for the second part of the review to come soon where I test the wear and durability of the topcoat.

  5. I tried this after seeing it on Deez Nailz's blog, but on me it just dries super slow over fresh manis, so now I use it to put on items like rhinestones - where I don't want it to dry too fast =)

  6. ABOP - it didn't try too slowly for me, but it didn't try super fast either. I always use quick dry drops, thats what probably helped

  7. I was thrilled when I first used this as it did seem to be much better than other topcoats, but like others I have tried over the years, this one too has let me down. I can't understand how it could work so well one week and then lead to very disappointing wear another. Can someone help me to discover an answer to this?

  8. To tell you the truth, I have so many base and top coats that I change what I use almost all the time! I haven't used the Nailene top coat in a while because I am currently in love with my quick dry top coats :)

  9. I always really liked the Nailene top coat out of any other I have ever tried, but can no longer find it for sale anywhere in my area. I sure do miss the shiny and smooth surface it gave on top of my polish. Does anyone know where I could still hopefully pick up a bottle of this product? thanks in advance... great nails by the way, LOVE the color and your blog!

  10. Ankhha - thanks :) Where do you live? If you are in Canada, I have noticed that Shoppers Drug Mart usually has a good supply of Nailene products. I have noticed that Nailene has been in the process of rebranding/repackaging product and that may be while you cant find it; either they cleared the old product from the shelves to make room for the new product, or you are missing the new packaging.

    I personally haven't purchased anything Nailene in a while, but I will give my local shops a look and let you know if I find anything. check out the their site and see if you can find it there. there may also be a chance that they have discontinued it :(
