Below Deck

Hello ladies,

Today I have a polish from the Anchors Away Collection China Glaze came out with not too long ago for spring. This is is the only polish I had not worn yet out of the 3 I purchased together; Sea Spray, Pelican Grey, and today's polish, Below Deck.

Below Deck was actually a last minute impulse buy for me, I had originally just wanted the other 2, and although the rest of the collection was awesome, I felt I already had similar colours in my stash. I don't remember why I bought it, but I am ready glad I did. I think it may be my favorite out of the 3!

The colour is so hard to describes and seems to change depending on your lighting source. This is how I described it to my boyfriend over the phone after applying it:

It's like a brownish, taupe-y, mushroom, with purple!

My sister described it as mauve... as you can see, so hard to describe! lol but I do feel it has a nice purple tone to it, and I love purple with my skin tone. I instantly loved it after the first stroke of polish was applied. It dried the slightest bit darker than the bottle colour, but that was fine with me.

Application was soooo great! It was kind of thick, but the perfect kind of polish thickness. And the pigmentation, omg! I could have gotten away with just ONE thick coat, but I decided to go with 2 slightly thinner ones, I find polish lasts longer with 2 coats verses only 1.

Speaking of wear... this did not start to chip until 5 days of wear! I'm not talking huge chunks either just normal tip wear. I did apply 1 coat of NYC's quick dry top coat which, in my opinion, is second best to my Seche Vite.

Over all I loved the colour, application and wear, way to go China Glaze!

Anita - lol thanks, it's so hard to describe. I originally didn't realize how purple based it was.
