September Favorites

This is an ongoing monthly post which highlights some of my very favorites from the month past.

Today I have my most favorite things from September. Check them out below.

Favorite Life Change - School!
You may notice I mention a small amount about nutrition and healthier recipes in my monthly favorites, so this September I finally decided to go back to school for holistic nutrition. So far it has been very exciting and educational. It has definitely taken up more of my time since I am still working full-time, so I am still adjusting. This has contributed to less time spent on my nails, however I am still doing them at least once a week at the moment.

Favorite Polish - Sinful Colors Blue La La
With less free-time on my hands, the beginning of September was neglectful to my nails, and I must say that Blue La La really held up well with with at least two full weeks on my nails! This also included a trimming (while still wearing the polish) and a refresh with a new favorite glow-in-the-dark polish, Funky Fingers Dia De Muertos (shown together below).

Favorite Book - Whole: Rethinking the Science of Nutrition, T. Colin Campbell
I'm sure you notice most of my favorite books listed here have a similar theme, whole, natural nutrition. I have done a lot of research and I love to lean more about nutrition. If you read the China Study (Which I highly recommend), you should read this! It gives you a better understanding of how to apply the research found in the China Study to your overall life. I would recommend it to those who have not read the China Study as well as a fist read, it is not as technical and a slightly easier read. I haven't finished it yes because of all the extra reading I have with school at the moment, but I don't have the heart to put it on hold, its that interesting!

Favorite Fashion -  Faux Leather Moto Jacket
I had a few semi-dressy events this September. Although the weather was great in, when I needed a little something to dress up an outfit this was my go to piece. I purchased this faux leather moto jacket from Dynamite and I am just in love with it! It fits me perfectly and adds a certain sophistication to the basic of outfits. (Let's pretend the jacket is an off white, soft grey colour... they are currently sold out of the one I have but this colour is new for fall)

Until next month...

August Favorites

This is an ongoing monthly post which highlights some of my very favorites from the month past.

Today I have my most favorite things from August. Check them out below.

Favorite Polish: China Glaze Celtic Sun
Defintely the brightest polish of my summer. I never thought I would like a yellow this much! Plus it really made my tan more prominent.

Favorite Book: Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer
I just finished reading this book last week, but I started it in August. A great read if you are interested in what is going on in industrial farms and where your food comes from. It is very well written and researched. To summarize the story, the author decides he wants to learn more about his food once his son is born so he can make the best food choices for his family.

Favorite Mani: Sprinkle Jelly Doughnut
This mani was made using Essie Marshmallow, China Glaze Can I Get An Untz Untz and China Glaze Let The Beat Drop. I love these neon glitters and hope they last me until next year so I can wear them again!... You know, without the glitter bleeding in to the base.

Favorite Fashion: Active wear from Old Navy
I just purchased these new fall active wear pieces from Old Navy and am OBSESSED! I first purchased these purple leaning burgundy (colour " Blackberry Jamming") capris for yoga and running. They have these great mesh panels that are not only great for hot yoga (preventing slipping in more difficult poses) but also super hot!

I loved the fit and styling of these so much I purchased the full length legging as well in black.

July Favorites

This is an ongoing monthly post which highlights some of my very favorites from the month past.

Today I have my most favorite things from July. Check them out below.

Favorite Polish - Neons
For the most part, July gave us some amazing summer weather and with hot temperatures comes hot polish! I have been loving neons in excess last month, weather it was wearing what I already own or buying new ones. I don't know if I have one favorite out of what I had worn/purchased in the month of July, but Orly, Thrill Seeker did surprise me with how bright it was!

Favorite Clothing - Shorts
It was so hot for a few weeks that it was hard to wear much. Most days I just hung out by my pool in a bikini! Since it is hard for me to decide on a favorite bikini (like neon polishes, I have MANY) I can decide on one favorite article of clothing last month, these soft patterned, high waisted, flowy shorts from Garage.  I must have work them at least 75% of the month! They are so comfy and versatile to dress up, down and anywhere in between!

Favorite Nail Art -Colour Blocking
Hand down the easiest and quickest nail art I have ever done. So quick and easy to refresh your mani with colour blocking. The funny thing is I thought it would end up a hot mess, but I really loved this mani. To view the original post for this look, click here.

Favorite Book - Inside the O'Brian's by Lisa Genova
This book had me hooked, I could not put it down! Knowing people close to me have had to (and still are) living with HD made this book an emotional read for me, but the research that went in to the writing and the story telling really made this a great story. I love how it focuses on Huntington's Disease and makes it a topic for discussion. Not a lot of people know what this disease is and I think it is an important one to know about and fund for research.

Until next month!
