Holo on Holo Stamping

Happy Friday!! I wanted to do something fun with China Glaze L8R G8R before removing it. I was thinking of crackle or some sort of tape design but did not want to cover up the polish completely. I decided I would find a design to stamp with. I ended up choosing the shattered glass/mosaic pattern from Bundle Monster, plate BM-208. I also had the idea to stamp with another holo!!

BM-208 worked awesome by the way, I had some issues with it last year if you recall in this post. Bundle Monster provided me a brand new plate at no charge and I could not be happier :) I really like this pattern.

I chose Nubar Reclaim for the added tone on tone look and I love it, I really need to do more manis like this. I love the subtle refresh it gives and you can still see the holo! I did use a top coat and I feel like it may have dulled the effect a tiny bit. If anything it is more scattered, but not too bad. I used a very thin and quick swipe of an old bottle of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat.

See Ya Later Alligator... Some old & NEW Holos for 2013

Woohoo!! More holos! Today I have one of my China Glaze OMG polishes, I only own a few from the collection, and have only worn one as a full mani believe it or not! The first was DV8, which I LOVE, the second for me to wear from this collection? L8R G8R.

L8R G8R is a light green holographic/prismatic polish. I used two coats in my photos with a regular base coat (I forgot to use my Nfu Oh Aqua Base) and no top coat. Considering I wore a regular base I had no issues with application. The polish applied smoothy and dried quickly.

After wearing this for a few days, I kind of wish it was more pigmented or a deeper green. It is a pretty pastel lime but it needs a little more brightness to it! I was actually inspired to wear this polish after seeing swatches of China Glazes Spring 2013 Hologram collection and seeing OMG a UFO which is not only an awesome looking green holo, but the name rocks too! I soooo cannot wait for those :)

Krystal  from PolishGalore was kind enough to let me use her borrow her photo above to show you guys OMG a UFO and the other lovely holos China Glaze is set to release this spring. Look how saturated these shades look! To see more photos of this collection and some more upcoming collections from China Glaze, be sure to check out her post here.

The wear was typical of holos or most regular polishes without a top coat. Within the first couple of days I got some slight tip wear and one or two minor chips. This was from various day-to-day stuff like washing dishes, prepping food, cleaning etc. I want to do some fun nail art with this one, I'm off to look up some inspiration ;)

I couldn't resist taking a photo of my nails by my new neon coral bikini, :) ... which of course is showing up pink. I love the contrast in colours.

What's your favorite holo polish?

A Deviation

Deviation, Translation: the act of deviating

What that has to do with this polish... probably nothing at all but look how pretty!

I thought I would never own this little beauty, EVER! I'm so glad I finally have it. I had been creeping eBay for the last little while, and actually let it get away once. I was waiting to find it for a decent price and it basically ended in a bidding war. I spent under $12 on it, which isn't too bad, I think of it as buying a $OPI polish lol except, like, a million times better!

When I got it in the mail I was squealing with delight and swatched it on my boyfriends pinky, I didn't want to ruin my mani. and ooh and ahhhed for a while... my mom thought I was nuts lol.

As it sat on my desk for the next few days I though maybe it was so exciting to find and own just for the hunt, just because I thought I couldn't have it. I almost didn't even want to wear it right away buy my boyfriend suggested it and now I can't take it off!

This beautiful teal prismatic polish went on perfect with 2 coats. My best suggestion for someone wearing holos for the first time is to work fast or you will get dragging and bald spots. I used a base and top coat, I know others say not to but I wanted this polish to last! It is so much better in person and way hard to capture on camera, hence the many photos.

One of the best reactions I got from this polish was from my aunt. She was over last week and saw the polish and was like oh my God! what a pretty colour! Keep in mind this was in doors. I walked her over to some better lighting and she was blown away! I explained to her that it is discontinued, hard to find polish and that I probably spent more on it than I should. Her response: it was worth it! She also said she would love to wear it on her toes.

Isn't it exciting to have non-polish obsessed people go gaga over polish :)

I wore this polish for almost a full week before the minor chipping started to bug me and I changed it. Super in love with it though, worth every penny. I am looking in to finding some more, hopefully 2NITE and L8R G8R, I snatched up GR8 over the weekend also. The others in the collection I pretty much have close dupes for in my Prisms collection.

Anyone know where I can find the other 2 OMG's for a reasonable price or are looking to trade or sell? Let me know :)

Where Have I Been?

Hello there, glad that you are still with me. I don't think that I have ever been away from blogging for this long, a little over a week straight, and before that I was very sparatic. I wish I could say that I was on vacation or something... but no, just somewhere in between busy and lazy, that's me lately lol

Fortunately, you haven't really missed much, I have been polishing my nails and photographing them as usual. The only good/bad thing (depending on how you look at it) is that the polish I have been wearing lately has either had incredible wear or I just love it and dont want to change it! Good for me, bad for my blog lol. I was never really one to change my polish every day, only when it starts to chip. I literally have only 3 posts semi ready to go, so I hope over the weekend I come up with more stuff to make it up to you guys next week.

Thank you to those who still regularly visit, it means a lot! It must be the weather that has been making me so "la la la". I am in need of a vacation lol. One last thing before I go, kind of a preview of what is to come next week...

My first ever polish from the OMG collection came in the mail recently... TOTALLY IN LOVE!
