Today I have new installment of Inside Indy Polish. I told you a little about Animeniac last week, but here is a refresher:
The story behind Amimeniac is so awesome, a mother helping her daughter to pursue a dream of creating her own polish and helping her to sell it to us die hard lacquer heads. What a great mom, right? Animeniac polishes are inspired by anime, manga, sci-fi, comics and gaming which is sure to produce some fun and interesting polishes for sure, plus they are big three free!
Below is an interview I had with Aneissa, creater of the polishes for Animeniac, I had the theme song of Animaniacs stuck in my head the whole time composing this post by the way ;)
Favourite polish finish:
I love both glitter and cream finishes.
Favourite polish colour:
I love Super Heroine and Geek Chic.
Favourite polish trend:
The Glitter polish trend, because it gives a variety of options. The possibilities are endless…
Favourite base coat:
Our New Static Base Coat.
Favourite top coat:
Our New Mezz Top Coat.
What was the first polish you ever mixed/created?
Geek Chic. I love the variety of glitter colors and sizes.
Why did you decide to start mixing/creating polish?
As a creative mind, a lover of nail polish and a lover of Anime, Manga etc. I felt the need to combine the three.
What made you finally start to mass-produce and sell your polish?
Everyone would comment on how much they loved my nails whenever I did my nails and they would ask where did I “get” my polish. I realized that there was a real interest especially here in Canada, as well as in the US. Many people have found it hard to get the types of polishes they like in Canada.
How long does it take you to make a batch/bottle of polish?
It depends. We test and retest each formulation to make sure that they are of the highest quality.
What is your favourite hand-crafted polish? Super Heroine and Geek Chic.
Where do you get inspiration for your collections?
My polishes are all inspired by Anime, Manga, Comics, Gaming, and Sci-Fi. The colors range from vivid to neutral, and give me a lot of inspiration. The color combinations are endless.

You're As Cold As Ice!
Happy Friday!
The weather has been crazy cold this week so I am super glad that Friday is finally here. The good thing is that the cold freeze inspired me to wear a fabulous polish, Oopsie Daisy Glacier. I was most excited about this polish in the Oopsie Dasiy holiday collection I won late last year. This polish is made up of a bright aqua blue jelly base and packed with micro/mini white glitter and various sizes of iridescent sheer white glitter. I almost forgot, there is also a sprinkling of micro and bar holo glitter, it is subtle but gorgeous.
In my swatches I used two coats. I wish I had applied three thinner coats as opposed to two thicker ones, I should have taken my own advice for application of such dense glitters found in my China Glaze It's A Trap-eze post. I wanted to apply thicker coats to achieve opacity quicker, but I really should have taken my time with it.
The depth of glitter through the jelly and hints of holo bar glitter remind me of the texture and cracks that are formed in ice. It is an awesome polish overall, and with a little more time spent on application it would have been perfect. HotPinkAura also just posted yesterday that this has been added to the core line if you are interested in it for yourself.

Although still stunning, the final texture is kind of lumpy. I am still considering whether I'd like to apply one last coat or not, I don't want to ruin it all-together! As you can tell the cold weather is totally drying out my skin, I have been trying to moisturise as much as I can.

Oopsie Daisy, I Won! The Holiday Collection + Swatches
I won an awesome set of polishes from hotpinkaurora.com about a week ago and they just arrived! The polishes I won are apart of Oopsie Daisies holiday collection. Oopsie Daisies, if you hadn't already known, is one of the many Indy brands of polish that have been immuring lately. These are my first ever indy polishes! The Indy brands I have seen seem to have interesting combos of glitters, and this collection does not disappoint!
First up is the most Christmasy polish, Carols By Candle Light. This polish consists of small matte white glitter, green and red matte hex glitter and green hex holo glitter! It is sooo pretty! Shown in my swatches below is just one coat, as are the rest of the polishes I will be commenting on. I love the base in this and the other glitters. My number one complaint with larger glitter polishes in general is that it is hard to get them from the bottle to your nail, this is usually due to the base being thick. The base in this polish was of perfect consistency and made it easy to move manipulate glitter on the nail as well for better placement.
Next up is Keeping it Kosher, the Hanukkah themed polish. This consists of matte hex blue glitter, shiny silver hex glitter and large square and small circular matte white glitter. This is just fantastic, the blue and silver remind me of hockey of ice skating :)
Festivas For The Rest of Us is another clear based glitter with black, pink, purple and white hex glitter. This one is awesome for any time of the year and I can't wait to layer it with some jellies! I love black glitter :)
Last but not least is Glacier, the only polish that has a pigmented base. This polish is so complex with the amount of glitters packed inside which adds amazing depth. Glacier is a jelly based polish packed with an assortment of white and prismatic glitters ranging from bar to hex. I cannot wait to wear this as a full mani!! So awesome!!
I am still so excited to have won this awesome collection and I love how three can be worn all year round. Carols By Candle Light is looking to be THE Christmas glitter for me this year, I hope I don't run out of time before Christmas to wear it!
Below are some swatches indoors and outdoors (overcast). All swatches are one coat each!
