Sally Girl Being Discontinued?

So it appears that spring has come back around again. No more Winter in April please!

This is actually a polish I wore around Easter but didn't feel the need to post with the weather the way it was. This is Sally Girl, Zing a Ding. I was lucky enough to find this on clearance, which the rest of the Sally Girl products looked to be on as well. It looks as though they may be discontinuing this brand, anyone know for sure?

Zing A Ding, what a name by the way, is a pastel lavendar creme with various sizes of matte white glitter suspended within. The formula was creat and easy to apply needed two coats for full opacity.

I don't think I have actually ever purchased a Sally Girl polish before. There was once instance I purchased the glow-in-the dark topper because I needed to add an extra $1 to my purchase to get a coupon or free gift or something!

That being said, I decided to try this polish out since it was cheap and pretty. I'm actually pretty impressed, both with the quality and amount needed for a full mani, however I do prefer the old bottles which held more product (5.3ml/.18 fl oz, compared to the new bottles, 4ml/.13 fl oz). that being said if they happen to be discontinuing this line I will have a closer look at what is available during my next Sally's visit.

Since this promo had been going on for a week or two now the polishes have been picked over, however there is still a lot on sale. This includes single polishes and sets. Birthday Haul... For My Sister!

Yesterday was my sisters birthday and she had requested nail polish! My time to shine ;) Below is the polish portion of the gift that I got her.

I got these all from Sally's. The first mini Sally Girls were some random neons I found at the cash. I can never find the names on these so I don't know what try are called. A bright neon pink and bright neon orange.

The other four are mostly from the latest Finger Paints summer collection, with the exception of Choco-Mint which was from their spring collection. My sister loves Tiffany blues so now she can own one and stop asking to borrow my bottle of For Audry!

From left to right The Finger Paints are Choco-Mint, Flip Flop Fuschia, Sexy Sundress and Beach Bound.

Don't forget to check out the Bundle Monster nail art contest this week and vote for your favorites :) A big thanks to those who have already voted for my nails. Remember, you are able to vote once a day until May 13.

U.S Haul

Wow, so many hauls for me lately, I purchased a lot of polish this month, and its not even over yet!

Over the weekend I did some cross boarder shopping and found some hidden gems :) But I think I first want to start off with some random polish findings from all over the place earlier in the month.

So I guess I can start off with some new Sally Hansen Nail Prisms in my collection:

From left to right:

Lapis Amethyst - a turquoise/blue that shifts between pink/purple/yellow/green
Pink Rose Diamond - light pink linear holographic
Golden Tourmaline - a bright red holographic
Coral Amber - a pink/orange base that shifts between orange/yellow/green/blue
Ruby Sapphire - a deep purple base that shifts between red/pink/orange/gold/blue/green

My little Halloweenies! I love these bottles and I love Halloween. Is is me or is Halloween stuff coming out WAY too early this year, I mean it's one of my favorite times of the year but it's still August!

My little tombstone buddies are:

Black Pearl - straight up black
Black Magic - small and thin multicolored bar glitter in a clear base
Vampy Red - A very deep and dark burgundy

Next some old Sally Hansen Salon polish:

Honeydew - YES! I have been lemming this forever :) A bright teal with silver shimmer, so juicy looking makes me want some melon! I almost put this one on the other day, hopefully I wear it soon.
Guilty Pleasure - a pretty neutral gold foil.
Mangoes Loco - a pretty squishy looking coral/pink. I feel like sally Hansen has a lot of similar pink/coral the older salon collection, I own a lot of them lol.

Next up some more old school SH's:

Carnelian (Chrome) - a bright pink/magenta foil.
Batik Cream - a deep teal with green gold micro shimmer, very subtle

I also got some Nicole by OPI's, the look pretty similar but the difference is in the shimmer:

Turn Out The Lights - a black base with teal green shimmer
Drama in the Dark - a black base with a silver/blue/gray shimmer

This next beauty I got off eBay for a decent price, this is GR8 from China Glaze's OMG collection, it's the second I own and I love it more in person than when I had originally seen from the photos online. It may not be as holographic as the others, but there is a still a nice linear holo going on ;) For those of you who don't know, GR8 is a yellow/gold linear holo.

I found these China Glaze beauties on sale, I guess the beauty supply wanted to get rid of their summer collections, below is Electric Pineapple and Papaya Punch. Both are brights for summer without being neon.

Below is my first Essie! I have Matte About You, but that doesn't actually count as a full polish, right? Anyways, I picked this up with the CG's up top, so this one was also on sale! This is Da Bush. After purchasing it, I realized it is quite similar to a polish I got from Sinful Color's Adventure Island collection. Also photographed with the Essie, is a random, no name polish I got on the same day, doesn't have a name but it is a really pretty army green for fall, I couldn't leave it :). And although it kinda smells (not too strong) The formula actually seems decent :)

Now for what I picked up in the U.S.

At Sally's I picked up their Beauty Secrets base and top coat, I forgot to take a picture of it, but you know the ones right? They are the size the size of a baseball and will probably last me the rest of my life lol. I have used the base coat already and love it, goes on so smooth.

Also at Sally's they had a full display of the new Metro collection from China Glaze so I picked up:

CG in the City- a mix of pink, purple, black and silver glitter in a clear base. From what I have seen on other blogs, the glitter builds up quite well.Midtown Magic - so beautiful, a deep dark base of purple with golden shimmer. In the bottle the shimmer looks a little duochromy, but not sure if it translates on the nail.

Next was one of my favorite finds, and at Kmart of all places. I found a Sally Hansen pack of lip glosses and a Xtreme Wear polish, the box said the total value was $18.00, but you pay $7.99. I don't have the box, but this is what it looked like. I felt like that was a little too much, since I just wanted the polish lol. I brought it up to the cashier and asked if there was a sale on it at all, it rang in at $1.99!! WOOT! last one too, too perfect because Night Lights was in it :)

The lip gloss actually isn't too bad either. I don't need lip plumping, I think my lips are more than enough plump, I tried the clear one out and liked the smell, reminds me of hot lips :) The clear one in the gold bottle didn't have a name, but the pink one is called Sheer Bare. I love neutrals for my lips so this was an awesome buy :) The moral of the story, when in doubt ask the cashier! I almost left it, so glad I asked.

Here are some more photos of Night Lights.

Look at all the holo glitter goodness. The black/charcoal base is quite thin and needs to be built up, but you get the squishy jelly look :)

This is not exactly a linear holo like I originally thought, but still pretty and I'm glad to own it. Has anyone ever found this in store on on it's own?

Last polish and another great find, also my second Essie, Dive Bar. Yum :) look at the colour shift in that.

Dive bar has a deep dark base, almost black with a duochrome colour shift between blue, purple, green pink. The first time I saw it, I knew I had to have it lol. I picked this up at Target and it was the last one :) Even the cashier made a comment about how beautiful it was. Of all the places I have been looking for it (including Canada where the retail price ranges from $8-$12) I have not been able to find it! Have you seen it around?

So that is all for now, it took me forever to make this this post due to the changes with blogger, fortunately I got it figured out. Hope you liked my haul :)

Hauling Again Part 2... U.S

Hello ladies,

Today I have part 2 of my hauling from the last week of February. As you know I headed to the U.S again the last weekend in February and I wanted to make sure to check out some of the stores I missed on my list he first time around, this included:

Wal Mart
Rite Aid
Big Lots
Other Dollar Tree's

The first stop was Wal Mart.

The Wal Mart in The U.S. carries a lot more brands that the ones in Canada. Nail polish wise some brands that are not in the Canadian stores include:

Love My Nails
Pure Ice
Hard Candy

I really wanted Lava from Hard Candy but it was not included in the display. I did however find Sky, Beetle and others. Nothing really caught my eye so I moved on.

I ended up finding a polish I never thought I would, NYC, Love letters! Such a great layering polish, and for less than $1.

I also saw for the first time the Wet n' Wild quick dries. Only one colour, but this one was on my list, Party of Five Glitters.

The last 2 polishes I picked up were from Pure Ice, Busted and Dreamy.

Busted is comparable to the new Sally Hansen HD polishes or the Orly Cosmics, similar finish and definitley a duochrome. The only drawback? This polish is super sheer, I didn't expect that at all.

Dreamy is a pink jelly with tones of irridecent glitter packed in. I have a feeling this one may be sheer too. I also got a defective bottle, the brush wouldn't stay in properly :( I had to super glue it back which lead to much frustration and spilled glue.

Next I spotted some NYC's and Wet n' Wild fast dries. I picked up NYC's Love letters, an awesome duochrome, shimmery top coat, for 99 cents. I can't believe I actually got my hands on this one. It was the last one at the location I visited.

I also picked up Wet n' Wild Party of Five Glitters, the infamous close dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday and/or Milani's Gems. I had been wanting this polish for a while, but never spotted them in Canada. I went to a local Wal Mart last week and I finally found them, but it was very picked over, maybe only half of the collection was there if that, plus it cost more than the U.S.

Next stop, Ulta :)

Again Ulta is pretty cool, but the last time I checked it out I didn't find anything I really needed. This time I had a coupon for $3.50 off a purchase of $10 or more so I picked up another polish from OPI's texas collection, Houston... We Have a Purple.

I had seen this one and though it was a cool colour, but I found that in some pictures is cleaned more red and was not terribly unique. I decided to pick it up any ways and try it out for myself. I have already worn it as a full mani and the finish is awesome!

Since the polish was $8.50 I purchased a mini location that was on sale for $1.99 in order to get the $3.50 off. My total at Ulta came out to under $8!

Across from Ulta is Sally's, which I LOOOVEEE so much more than the Canadian stores I've been to. They are cheaper, usually well stocked and from what I've found even friendlier! They even have better promos, I had missed out on some of these the last time around.

Bubble White was buy one get one free. I have seen reviews of this brand on youtube and it's supposed to work pretty well for cleaning stained nails. It was $1.99 for both.

The first thing I looked for when I walked in the store was the Crackle display... it was out, but totally empty! The sales associate let me know that they put it out 2 days earlier and they went fast! A display that was overly stocked was the Tronica collection. I ran over and scooped up the colours I knew I had wanted since I saw the promo pics, High Def and Techno Teal.

High Def is a light cornflower blue, I also hear that the shade is comparable to 2NITE from the OMG collection.

Techno Teal is a deep blue/green turquoise, this shade is comparable to DV8 from the OMG collection.

Both of these polishes have scatured prismatic glitter. I tested them out on a fake nail and they are pretty opaque in 1 stroke. I need to see if these will work well for Konading.

I'm sill kicking myself for not picking up Laser Lime :( I even checked a Sally's in Toronto last week but they didn't have that specific one. Since they had a promo going on, I picked these up in the States for $3.99 each

Lastly in the Niagara Fashion Outlets, I found a Fragrance store that offered 10 NYX makeup products for $10! Me and my sister got 5 each, my stash included:

Blue Ave. A sheer flakie topcoat with green and orange flakies of different sizes.

Purple Ave x 2. A sheer flakie topcoat with blue flakies.

2 lip glosses, one is a sheer red with gold shimmer, the other is a sheer orange with small pieces of gold glitter.

I picked up 2 of purple ave because they looked different in the store... when I got home they looked the same :( I actually already had one at home, but it looked totally different, weird huh?

I had never used NYX lip glosses before but these are awesome, love the colour and the formula. they have a little brush for application, really happy I picked these up :)

Stores I checked out that didn't have what I was looking for was:

Big Lots - they had Revlon's, but none that appealed to me
Dollar Tree - the one I checked out had nothing

I wanted to check out a Rite Aid and CVS but didn't end up passing by one.

So there you have it! I'm going to try to control myself for a little bit regarding hauling. I have some China Glaze Crackles in mail which should be arriving any day now. I have some cool ideas for those so we will see what happened. Hope you enjoyed my post :)

China Glaze Hauls... from December to now!

Hey Ladies,

Today I have post that is a long time coming! Some of these polishes were purchased in late December but I just forgot to post them. I guess I should start with the most recent and go back from there.

Within the last 2 weeks and I stopped in to Sally's 3 times to see if they had any more polishes reduced. To my surprise the Sally's closest to me had China Glaze, Ick-a-body which I had wanted for a while reduced to $2.50 :) I also picked up a base coat of Gelous for my weak thumb nails on another visit. Upon checking out the next closest Sallys I also found China Glaze, Jitterbug, another one I had on my wish list for $2:50 as well :) I was supper happy about both of these!

I just received these lovelies in the mail last week from Amazon.com apart of China Glazes Anchors Away collection. Although there was a great variety of beautiful colours, I decided more on the dusty neutrals; Sea Spray, Pelican Grey and Below Deck.

In December Sallys had a promo when you purchase any 2 China Glazes you get 1 additional China Glaze free! I picked up Dorothy Who?, Lubu Heels and Emerald Fitzgerald. Emerald Fitzgerald being from the fall collection was reduced to $2.50, but I got one of the full priced polishes for free also apart of the 3 polish promo!! Such a great deal! Durning this visit I also purchased Orly's Meet Me Under the Mistletoe, if you missed the post, this is what I wore for Christmas, you can see that polish here. In total, the 4 polishes with tax only cost me around $16!

Speaking of Sally's, they have a promo at their Canadian and U.S stores, when you buy Seche Vite Top Coat you get Seche Vite Clear Base Coat for Free! Pretty good deal, I might have to check it out ;) The U.S stores also have their whole stock of Orly's for $4.99 which is great! Canadian stores are more unfortunately :( I will be heading to the States this month so I just may have to search for a Sally's :)

Heppy Friday everyone, hope you enjoy the weekend ahead :)
